Peter moving to Timaru

Most of you will be aware that Peter is moving to Timaru for work reasons. His last class will be on Wednesday the 12th April. W are sad to loose his expertise, good humour and the hard work he has put into the club and its students.

The black belts have been discussing the best options for carrying on his work, and have appointed Hayden Spatcher, Shirley club instructor, as the new Gymn Director. Hayden has accepted the responsibility of running the clubs and keeping the rest of us in line!

Monday classes will be taken alternately by Aroha Miller and Alan Brian, and Yorick will take Wednesday classes. Hayden has also reinstituted the monthly Friday night black belt class - first one to be later this month.

Danny in Europe

Most of you will be aware that Danny Cartlidge is training in England and competing in Europe at the moment. Cor Mastwijk has kindly forwarded some photos of the Dutch Open where Danny competed recently. With around 1300 competitors, it is one of the largest in the world.

Cor Mastwijk visit

we were fortunate to be visited by Cor Mastwijk, a Dutch Master and head of Mastwijk Taekwondo. Cor is an excellent patterns practitioner and shared his expertise with the class. He has promised to visit again, and also keep us up to date with Taekwondo events in Holland.
